The sectoral supplementary pension scheme is established by collective labour agreements (CLAs).
In principle, all employers operating in the professional sector covered by the CCT are obliged to join the sectoral scheme. Consequently, all workers in this sector are members of the sectoral scheme.
Monument Assurance Belgium has been designated by various sectors (or sub-sectors) as the pension organisation responsible for managing these sectoral supplementary pensions.
These agreements are published and available for consultation on the website of the Federal Public Service for Employment, Labour and Social Dialogue.
Joint Committee 209 deals with the sector-specific supplementary pension scheme for employees in the metalworking industry.
This scheme was established by the collective labour agreement of 21 March 2002 and came into effect on 1 April 2002. On 1 July 2007, the scheme was extended to include managerial staff in these companies.
On 1st January 2017, a solidarity commitment was added to the existing sectoral pension commitment.
Monument Assurance Belgium was appointed as the pensioninstitution.
The organiser of the CP209 sectoral pension scheme is the FSEM-BIS (Social Fund for Metal Employees – BIS).
From 1 January 2019, the FSEM-BIS has authorised the Metalworkers’ Social Fund (FSEM) to collect sectoral contributions (pension and/or solidarity) from companies, as well as to collect – from the companies concerned – the 8.86 % ONSS contribution.
For full practical details regarding the collection of contributions, please contact the FSEM directly at the following email address: 209@fonds209.be
Monument Assurance Belgium remains authorised to manage the administration and finances of the sectoral contributions paid by the FSEM on behalf of companies within the sector and companies contributing to the solidarity component of the sectoral pension scheme.
