This scheme was established by a collective labour agreement dated 21 March 2002 and came into effect on 1 April 2002. On 1 July 2007, the scheme was extended to include managerial staff at these companies.
On 1 January 2017, a solidarity commitment was added to the existing sectoral pension commitment.
