This section is intended for individuals who hold a life insurance policy offering a guaranteed return, contractually fixed on the premiums paid (a Branch 21 product), managed by Monument Assurance Belgium.

Pursuant to the Royal Decree of 10 April 2025, which came into force on 1 January 2026, Monument Assurance Belgium is required to publish the costs of third-pillar products.
This cost is calculated on the net premiums paid.

From 1 January 2026, a 10 % tax applies to capital gains realised on certain financial products, in particular upon surrender or payout of the capital of certain life insurance policies while the insured person is still alive.

This section is intended for individuals who hold a unit-linked life insurance policy (a Branch 23 product) managed by Monument Assurance Belgium.
Monument Assurance Belgium no longer markets new products.
In accordance with the Royal Decree of 10 April 2025, which came into force on 1 January 2026, Monument Assurance Belgium is required to publish the costs of third-pillar products.
This is the maximum cost calculated on all net premiums paid.
This is the maximum annual cost, calculated at a rate of 1/52 per week. The costs are borne by the investment fund and are automatically deducted from the unit value.
Surrender charges amount to 4 % of the policy value during the first year following policy issue. They then decrease by 1 % per year. From the fifth year onwards, no surrender charges are applied.
No surrender charges are applied in the event of the insured person’s death.

These fees may not exceed 5 % of the insured benefits, up to a maximum of €200.
Premiums paid are subject to a 2 % tax.
The policyholder is not entitled to any tax relief on the premiums paid.

Management fees are deducted daily from the net asset value of the internal fund.
Any withdrawal made by the policyholder during the first four years of their policy is subject to a charge equal to 0.10 % per remaining month, including the month of withdrawal, until the end of this period.
The cost of the “periodic annuities” and “minimum death benefit” cover is 1.95 % per year. It is calculated and deducted monthly from the reserve of Happy Life insurance policies.
Premiums paid are subject to a 2 % tax.
The policyholder is not entitled to any tax relief on the premiums paid.
The policy is not subject to capital gains tax.
